The Magazine Club was born in the heart of every home: the kitchen. This particular kitchen is located in via Maggio, in the historic center of Florence, Italy.
The warmth and freedom of a kitchen in a safe home provided the right environment for the Club members to channel their high sensitivity.
The Magazine Club's first exhibition paid hommage to this origin, aptly calling it "At The Kitchen Table". This monthlong exhibition in a 600 year old Florentine Palazzo told the story of how a little bit of discipline turned these spontaneous artist meetings into a snapshot of the spirit of the moment, resulting in artist books of high quality and hilarious works.
Essentially, The Magazine Club = (high sensitivity + safe space + humour) x trained hands.
From this, a Libro di Artista was made and published every week. These "artist books" are a longstanding Italian tradition, a tangible evidence of the salon sessions creatives have been holding behind the scenes for centuries. They are limited editions and all hand-numbered and stamped.
Realising the beauty of this and the valuable role it could play in the modern world, it is now offered as a service, so the club can be hired to translate your story into art.
